Travel with Basiskort
Everything about your journey, check in/out and payment
The Basiskort is a physical card that you hold in front of a Checkpoint when checking in and checking out — at all new Checkpoints.
Good to know:
- Check in everytime you board
- Check out everytime you get off
- This also applies when transferring during your journey
- The same Checkpoint is used for both check in, check out, and travel companions
If you forget a check‑out during your journey with a transfer, you need to check out first and then check in again in at the same Checkpoint and continue your journey.
It is not possible to use Basiskort and the Rejsekort app on the same journey. For example, by starting your journey by checking in with the Rejsekort app and checking out with your Basiskort.
Journeys with multiple transfers
Journeys are linked if you check in again within 30 minutes after the last check‑out.
The total price can be viewed in:
- Self-Service
- Your daily receipt
- Rejsekort Customer Centre
Check Udvej cannot be used in cases of forgotten check out on Basiskort.
If you forget to check out:
- On the way: Check out at the nearest Checkpoint → check in again
- After your journey: Contact us at +45 70 11 33 33
You may be charged a standard fare, depending on your customer type. If part of the journey can be calculated, you pay the higher of the two.
It is your responsibility to ensure that you have a valid ticket when travelling. In the event of a ticket inspection, missing check‑in will result in a penalty fare.
You can add extra travellers on all Checkpoints.
How to do it
- Press the icon with two persons
- Choose extra travellers
- Check in with your Basiskort
Rules for extra travellers
- Add extra travellers before you check yourself in
- You can add up to 28 extra travellers (apart from yourself)
- Max 1 bike or dog at a time
- These combinations are allowed:
- Yourself + one child and a bike
- Yourself + multiple adults and children
- Yourself + one dog and multiple children
When changing means of transport
- Extra travellers automatically follow if you check in again within 30 minutes
If you continue alone
- Remove extra travellers at Checkpoint when checking in again
If you remove or change the number of travellers on a journey, the journey will be split and settled into two or more separate journeys.
If you need to see the screens on the Checkpoints before you travel, you can view them in the guide.
Errors at check in
When travelling with Basiskort, there may be situations where you cannot check in when you hold your Basiskort in front of the Checkpoint.
You cannot check in if:
- your method of paymente is expired or needs updating
- there is an error on your Basiskort
- you check in/out with a wrong card
- the Checkpoint is out of order
After your journey
If you experience an error during your journey, you must contact us to have the journey corrected. You can do this by phone or by filling out an online form.
Error at Checkpoint
If you receive a message about a technical error when you check in or check out with your Basiskort, then try again — preferably by holding the Basiskort closer to the reader or for a little longer until you see that the Checkpoint has registered your card.
If the Checkpoint is out of service, you must buy a ticket in another way.
If your Basiskort has not arrived by post within 10–14 days, please contact us at +45 70 11 33 33.
Payment for your journeys
The personal Basiskort does not need to be topped up.
Instead:
- Payment is deducted once a day from your linked payment method
- You receive a daily receipt by email
- You can view all journeys in the Self-Service system
Flat fee in case of forgotten check out
If you forget to check out, either during your journey with transfers or at the end of your journey, you may be charged a standard fare for your trip. If we can calculate part of your journey, we will charge the price for that part if it is higher than the standard fare. The standard fare will depend on your customer type.
The standard fares depend on your customer type and card type. You can find the standard fares under Terms and Conditions, which you can find at here.
Payment methods

- With the anonymous Basiskort, you can top up using cash or a payment card. The anonymous Basiskort will be introduced later in 2026
Invoice payment will become available later in 2026.
