From Rejsekort to Basiskort
Differences between Rejsekort and Basiskort
The physical Rejsekort will close in May 2026. Here you can read about the differences between the physical Rejsekort and Basiskort:
Basiskort:
- Check ind/out at all transfers
- All Checkpoints can check in, check out, and handle extra travellers.
- Payment daily – no top up needed
- Daily receipts and an overview of your journeys and payments in the Self-Service system
You can transfer your discount level from your Rejsekort to your Basiskort via the Self-Service system by entering your Rejsekort number. The transfer is not automatic.
The discount level follows your account, not your product. This means that the volume discount you earn from journeys made with the Rejsekort app also applies to journeys made with Basiskort, and vice versa.
Remaining balance cannot be transferred from your physical Rejsekort to Basiskort.
- Personal Rejsekort and Rejsekort Flex: Any remaining balance will be automatically transferred to your NemKonto when the Rejsecard is closed in May 2026. You should expect that it may take up to two months before the remaining balance and any remaining card value is transferred. You can also choose to close it yourself before May 2026 via Self Service for Rejsekort. If you close your Rejsekort yourself before the Rejsekort system closes in May 2026, you will not receive any remaining card value.
- Anonymous Rejsekort: can be closed at a sales location. Information will be provided here on the website about how you should proceed after the Rejsekort system shuts down if you have an Anonymous Rejsekort.
Your Rejsekort auto top‑up agreement
- Top-up agreements cannot be moved to Basiskort.
- Top-up agreements will be closed automatically when Rejsekort closes in May 2026.
Remember to close your auto top‑up agreement well in advance before the physical Rejsekort is phased out, so it does not top up unnecessarily.
