Rejsekort with Commuter Combi

Important dates

The physical Rejsekort is being phased out

The physical Rejsekort will be closed down gradually. The last travel day is 28 May 2026 for buses, local trains, and light rail services in Jutland and on Funen. On 29 June 2026, it will be the last travel day in Zealand and for trains operated by DSB and GoCollective across the country.

The additional month is intended to ensure a smooth transition to the new solutions, as many passengers in Zealand still travel using the physical Rejsekort, and some ticket types for the Basic Card will only be available later.

If you no longer travel using the physical Rejsekort, you do not need to do anything.

Important dates

Here you can see the most important dates for the gradual closure:

16 May 2026 is the last day you can buy or order a new physical Rejsekort with Commuter Combi.

28 May 2026 until 23:59 is the last day you can travel using the physical Rejsekort on:

• buses, local trains, and light rail services in Jutland and on Funen

20 June 2026 is the last day you can order a replacement card for Rejsekort with Commuter Combi if you lose your physical Rejsekort. The price of a replacement card is the same as for a new card: DKK 50.

If you order a replacement card, you will not receive the proportional remaining card value back when Rejsekort closes—only any remaining balance will be refunded.

Please note that replacement cards are sent by DAO, and Rejsekort & Rejseplan A/S cannot guarantee delivery times. Please stay updated via DAO’s website for expected delivery times.

Monday, 29 June 2026 is the last day you can check in using the physical Rejsekort.

29 June 2026 until 23:59 is the last day you can travel using the physical Rejsekort on:

• buses, metro, local trains, and light rail services in Zealand, Lolland, Falster, and Møn

DSB trains across Denmark and to Hyllie, Triangeln, and Malmö C in Sweden

GoCollective trains in Jutland and on Funen

29 June 2026 is also the last day you can:

  • Top up your physical Rejsekort until 23:59. However, please note that card readers at stations and platforms are only updated approximately every five hours, and card readers on buses are only updated approximately once every 24 hours.

You must therefore top up via Self-Service at least 5 hours in advance (for train/metro/light rail) or 24 hours in advance (for bus) before the amount can be used on your physical Rejsekort.

Please also be aware of when you need to complete a manual top-up depending on which type of transport you are using if you are travelling on the final travel day.

  • Purchase a new period or a new travel zone for an existing Rejsekort with Commuter Combi until 23:59. However, please note that card readers at stations and platforms are only updated approximately every five hours, and card readers on buses are only updated approximately once every 24 hours.

You must therefore renew via Self-Service at least 5 hours in advance (for train/metro/light rail) or 24 hours in advance (for bus) before the period can be used on your Rejsekort.

Please also be aware of when you need to complete a manual renewal depending on which type of transport you are using if you are travelling on the final travel day.

30 June 2026 is when the Rejsekort system officially closes, and you can no longer travel using the physical Rejsekort. However, you may complete a journey on 30 June if you checked in before midnight on 29 June.

27 June 2026 is the last day you can use the Check Udvej app for a forgotten check-out.

16 July 2026 is the last day you can pay overdue invoices via Self-Service.

23 July 2026 is the last day you can log in to Self-Service and do the following:

• Update your contact information

• View and download your travel history

How you can travel in the future

Here are your options for travelling by bus, train, metro, and light rail going forward:

Rejsekort app: Check in and out in the app and pay for your journeys continuously at the same price as with the physical Rejsekort.

Basiskort (physical card): Check in and out using card readers at the same price as with the physical Rejsekort. Choose between a personal or anonymous Basic Card.

Rejsebillet app: Buy single tickets, Commuter Cards, and special tickets in the app. If you travel using a Youth Card, you can also have it digitally in the app.

Remaining amount

If you have a valid period extending beyond 28 May 2026 and wish to use it in full, you must complete the web form here (please note: the web form is in Danish) no later than 28 May at 23:59. Otherwise, your commuter product on your Rejsekort with Commuter Combi will be automatically removed on 29 May 2026, and the remaining value of your period will be refunded as quickly as possible afterwards.

You can also terminate your period yourself before 29 May 2026. However, if a period has been activated, the refund will be reduced by the value of the days already used. The remaining amount will automatically be paid to your NemKonto as quickly as possible.

If you have a valid period extending beyond 28 May 2026 and wish to use it in full, you must complete the web form here (please note: the web form is in Danish) no later than 28 May at 23:59. Otherwise, your commuter product on your Rejsekort with Commuter Combi will automatically be removed on 29 May 2026, and the remaining value of your period will be refunded as quickly as possible afterwards.

Your Rejsekort with Commuter Combi will close when the last prepaid period expires – however no later than 29 June 2026. You will therefore not be able to travel using your Commuter Combi after 30 June 2026.

Under certain conditions, you can have the remaining card price paid out. The remaining card price is the value that the card represents in relation to when you purchased it.

When the Rejsekort system closes on 30 June 2026, your Rejsekort closes at the same time, and under the conditions below you can have the remaining card price paid out.

Conditions for payment of remaining card price:
When you bought your personal Rejsekort, you paid 50 kroner for the card itself.
A Rejsekort is valid for 5 years regardless of type.

When the physical Rejsekort partially closes on 29 May 2026 (even though you opt in to continue travelling with your Personal Rejsekort or Commuter Combi card after 28 May 2026), there may be some validity remaining on the card that you cannot use.

If the card was purchased no later than 14 December 2024, you can get your proportional remaining card price refunded.

If the card was purchased from 15 December 2024, you will not receive any remaining card price refunded.

You will only be informed of the final amount for the remaining card price when the repayment takes place after June 2026.

The remaining card price will always be less than what you paid for the card.

Read the applicable card terms and conditions at any time for more information here

If you want the remaining card price paid out
This only applies if your card was purchased no later than 14 December 2024:
• You must not close the card now.
• Wait until your physical Rejsekort automatically closes on 30 June 2026.

If you wish to close the card before June 2026
• You can have the card closed and have the money on it paid out.
• You cannot get money back for the card itself (remaining card price) – even if you would normally be entitled to it.

Renewal

On 29 June 2026, it will still be possible to purchase a new period or add a new travel zone to an existing Personal Rejsekort or Rejsekort with Commuter Combi until 23:59. However, please note that card readers at stations and platforms are only updated approximately every five hours, and card readers on buses are only updated approximately once every 24 hours. Therefore, renewals via Self-Service should be completed at least 5 hours in advance (for train/metro/light rail) or 24 hours in advance (for bus) before the period is needed on your Rejsekort.

Please also note the following:

28 May 2026 at 23:59 is the last day you can check in with your physical Rejsekort on:

• buses, local trains, and light rail services in Jutland and on Funen

29 June 2026 at 23:59 is the last day you can check in with your physical Rejsekort on:

• buses, metro, local trains, and light rail services in Zealand, Lolland, Falster, and Møn

DSB trains across Denmark and to Hyllie, Triangeln, and Malmö C in Sweden

GoCollective trains in Jutland and on Funen

If you are travelling across the country using multiple modes of transport—for example, by train from Copenhagen to Aarhus and then continuing by bus or light rail—please note that your Rejsekort will only be valid up to Aarhus Central Station. You will therefore need to purchase an additional ticket for the rest of your journey.

Please also be aware of when you need to complete a manual renewal, depending on which type of transport you will be using if you are travelling after 28 May 2026.

You can find more information on the transport operators’ websites.

Active period

If you have a valid travel period extending beyond 28 May 2026 and wish to use it in full, you must complete the web form here (please note: the web form is in Danish) no later than 28 May at 23:59. Otherwise, your commuter product on your Rejsekort will automatically be removed on 29 May 2026, and the remaining value of your period will be refunded as quickly as possible afterwards.

Please note that even if you have an active period that expires after 29 June 2026, your period on your physical Rejsekort will no longer be valid once the system closes on 30 June 2026. This means you will not be able to travel using your Rejsekort with Commuter Combi after 29 June 2026.

Your renewal agreement will automatically be terminated when your commuter product on your physical Rejsekort closes on 29 May 2026.

If a period has been activated, the refund will be reduced by the value of the days already used. The remaining amount will automatically be paid to your NemKonto as quickly as possible, and you will not be charged the value of eight travel days. If you close the agreement yourself before 29 May 2026, you will be charged the value of eight travel days.

Guide: Stop renewal agreement

Stop Top-up agreement

Your Top-up agreement automatically closes when the physical Rejsekort closes on 30 June 2026.

On 29 June 2026 it is possible to top up your Rejsekort until 23:59 pm, but please note that card readers at stations/platforms are only updated approximately every five hours, and card readers on buses are only updated approximately once a day.

You should therefore use top-up via Self-service at least 5 hours (for train/metro/light rail) and 24 hours (for bus) before the amount is to be used on Rejsekort.
Therefore, also be aware of when you make a manual top-up at the latest depending on which type of transport you will travel with if you travel on 29 June 2026.

It will for example be an advantage for you to ensure that you stop your Top-up agreement well in advance so that the system does not automatically top up shortly before the Rejsekort system closes, as the repayment period is longer after the system closes.

If you wish to stop your Top-up agreement before 30 June 2026 to avoid having money on the card that you must wait to get back, you must do so via Self-service. Guide: Stop Top-up agreement.

Self-service

July 16 2026 is the last day you can pay overdue invoices via Self-Service.

July 23 2026 is the last day you can log in to Self-Service and do the following:

  • Update your contact information
  • View and download your travel history

If you need to update your contact details or download your travel history, we encourage you to do so as soon as possible.

Card type

On most cards it states which type of card it is, for example Commuter Pass, School Pass, Rejsekort Corporate. However, on Rejsekort Personal, Flex and Anonymous it does not state which type of card it is. You will always be able to recognise Rejsekort Personal and Rejsekort with Commuter Combi as your name is stated on it and there may also be a picture of you. However, Rejsekort Flex and Anonymous may look the same.

You can also check by placing the card in a Rejsekort machine or by going to Self-service, where you will find an overview of your card(s) with information about rejsekort number and card type.

If you do not have a login for Self-service or cannot see your card in the overview in Self-service, it is most likely because you have a Rejsekort Anonymous. If you want to be completely sure, you can check the back of your Rejsekort: If you see a map of Denmark, it is a Rejsekort Anonymous.

Personal data

We process the information you provide to us and that we collect about you in connection with your use of your Rejsekort responsibly, with respect for your privacy and of course in accordance with the applicable data protection rules. You can always read more about our processing of your information in the privacy policy for Rejsekort here.

Special conditions

Death – if the card holder is deceased, Rejsekort and Rejseplan A/S receive information about this via the CPR register. The customer’s Rejsekort is then automatically closed and the money is sent to the deceased’s NemKonto, if it is open. If the deceased’s NemKonto is closed, the money is sent to the estate.

Emigrated – if you have emigrated and still have an active Rejsekort, the card is not closed automatically. You must instead contact Rejsekort Customer Centre and request to have the money paid out via your IBAN number.
You can contact Rejsekort Customer Centre by phone on 70 11 33 33.

Dispose of the card

As a starting point, your Rejsekort must be disposed of in residual waste, both at home and at the recycling station. If you are in doubt, you must follow the waste rules in your municipality. The Rejsekort consists of plastic with a built-in chip that contains metal. The materials cannot be separated, and therefore the card cannot be sorted as plastic.

Alternatives to the physical Rejsekort

Later in the summer of 2026, it will be possible to purchase Commuter Combi through the new Self-Service for the Basiskort or at selected points of sale. Commuter Combi will be valid for both the Rejsekort app and the asiskort.
