During spring 2026, it will be possible to buy a Basiskort for children at selected sales outlets, where it is possible to create and order Basiskort for both child and adult.
Payment for the child’s journeys
The child’s journeys are paid automatically by the adult who ordered the card.
The journeys are collected and paid once a day via the adult’s payment card or MobilePay. This means the card does not need to be topped up in advance, and the child can therefore always travel if an active payment method is attached.
The adult receives a daily receipt with an overview of the journeys made.
If the adult’s payment card is blocked, the adult will receive an SMS about this. For the child to travel, the payment details must be updated. This can take up to a day, but if you contact our Customer Centre, they can ensure that the details are updated immediately so the child can travel again.
With Basiskort, your child must check in every time they board and check out every time they get off. This also applies when changing during the journey, even if the trip continues with the same type of transport. All check points can be used for both check-in and check-out.
Your child can bring additional travellers on the journey with Basiskort. The adult who ordered the card is liable for payment for all journeys, including for the additional travellers the child has checked in.
How your child travels with Basiskort:
At the start of a journey:
· Check in when the journey starts
· Check out when the journey ends
When changing during the journey:
· Check in again when the journey starts
· Check out again when the journey ends
Can your child bring others on the journey?
Your child can add additional travellers at all Check points.

· Press the icon with two people
· Select additional travellers
· Check in on Basiskort
Rules for additional travellers

· Max 1 bicycle or 1 dog at a time
· Mixed combinations are allowed
When your child checks in, all fellow travellers are automatically checked in together with the child and follow the child’s check-in and check-out during the journey.
The adult who ordered the card is liable for payment for all journeys, including for the additional travellers the child has checked in.
Can discount levels from an old Rejsekort be transferred?
If your child has previously had a physical Rejsekort, discount levels can be transferred to the child’s profile.
The transfer can only take place once per card and must be done via our customer centre. Discount levels can be transferred until 31 July 2026.
If your child forgets to check out
If your child forgets to check out:
· During the journey: Check out at the nearest Check point regardless of whether it is on a bus, train, metro or light rail.
· At the end of the journey: Contact our customer centre on 70 11 33 33, who can help you with correct check-out.
Standard fare when check-out is forgotten
If your child forgets to check out, either during their journey with changes or at the end of the journey, you may be charged a standard fare for the journey. If we can calculate parts of the journey, we will charge the price for this part if it is higher than the standard fare. The standard fare will depend on customer type.
You can see the standard fares under “The small print”, which you find here.
It is your child’s responsibility to ensure that they have a valid ticket when they travel. In case of ticket inspection, missing check-in results in a penalty fare.
If the card is lost, it must be blocked in Self-service. After that, a new card can be ordered for the child.
Block the card as soon as possible in Self-service or by phone on 70 11 33 33. Until you block your child’s card, others can travel at your expense. If Basiskort is to be reopened, you must contact us. The card can be used immediately after reopening.
A replacement card costs DKK 50 and is sent by post. When the new card has been ordered, the child can use it as soon as it is received.
