Travel with Basiskort

Coming soon - The Basiskort is for those who prefer a physical card when travelling with public transport

Get started with Basiskort

To begin with, you can order a personal Basiskort if you are an adult, a young person over 18, a pensioner, or a person with a disability.

During spring 2026, it will also become possible to order Basiskort for children, businesses, and commuters. In addition, it will be possible to buy an anonymous Basiskort at selected sales locations.

The Basiskort is a physical card for those who prefer to travel by public transport without a smartphone. With Basiskort, you can travel throughout Denmark, except Bornholm, entirely without an app.

There are two versions of the card:

The personal Basiskort

  • This card is personal, and you can travel at a lower price if you have the customer type Disabled or Pensioner.
  • You pay for your journeys once a day using a payment card or MobilePay.
  • The card can only be used by you.

The anonymous Basiskort (Spring 2026)

  • This card contains no personal information, allowing you to travel anonymously.
  • You top up the card with cash or a payment card at selected sales locations.
  • The card can be used by you and others.

To begin with, it is possible to order and travel with a personal Basiskort if you are:
• Adult
• Young person aged 18+
• Person with a disability
• Pensioner (over or under 67 years)

To order and purchase a personal Basiskort, you need an email address and either MobilePay or a payment card. Later, it will also be possible to order without an email address and with other payment methods. You can read more about this in our FAQ under “Price and payment”.

Basiskort is expanding in spring 2026
We are continuously developing Basiskort and making it available to more people before the physical Rejsekort closes. In spring 2026, it will be possible to order Basiskort for children, businesses, and commuters. In addition, it will be possible to buy an anonymous Basiskort at selected sales locations if you prefer to travel anonymously.

You can stay updated on this page, where we will continuously share news about Basiskort.

With the Basiskort, you must check in every time you board and check out every time you get off. This also applies when transferring along the way, even if the journey continues with the same type of transport.

Fortunately, you no longer need to think about which validator to use. From now on, you will encounter new Check Points, which you can use for both check-in and check-out.
You also use the Check Point if you want to add fellow travellers when travelling with the Basiskort.

How it works
When you start a journey:
• Check in when you board
• Check out when you get off

When transferring along the way:
• Check in again when you board
• Check out again when you get off
