School Pass

Important information

From May 2026, your school will order the new School Passes on the Basiskort for the school year 2026/2027. If you already have a School Pass on Rejsekort, you will automatically receive a new School Pass on the Basiskort. Your school orders it for you.
If you have lost your physical School Pass or need a new one because you have changed municipality or school, after 28 May 2026 you will be issued a temporary ticket, which must be shown during ticket inspection instead of the School Pass. The ticket is used as temporary valid travel authority for the remainder of the school year 2025/2026. It is the school secretariat that orders the temporary ticket solution for you.

On 28 May 2026, the card readers close and the blue dots turn off. But you can still use your existing School Pass on Rejsekort for the rest of this school year 2025/2026. You simply show the card during ticket inspection, but you do not need to check in on it. When you receive your new School Pass on the Basiskort for the school year 2026/2027, you again check in and out.

From 29 May 2026, you can still travel with your physical School Pass even though you can no longer check in with the card. During ticket inspection, you simply show your School Pass if it is still valid for the school year 2025/2026.

As you have not paid for the plastic card itself, you will not receive any remaining card price paid out when the physical Rejsekort closes on 29 May 2026.
When the school secretary at your school orders a new School Pass for you for the school year 2026/2027, it will automatically be as a Basiskort and not a Rejsekort.

Remember that you should only throw your Rejsekort School Pass away once you have received your new Basiskort from the school or when the school year 2025/2026 is over.

As a starting point, your School Pass must be disposed of in residual waste, both at home and at the recycling station (small combustible waste). If you are in doubt, you must follow the waste rules in your municipality. The School Pass consists of plastic with a built-in chip that contains metal. The materials cannot be separated, and therefore the card cannot be sorted as plastic.
